Denver Art Museum

The Denver Art Museum is located at the Civic Centre Park is a seven- story museum and it has two distinct buildings. This museum was founded in the year 1893 and it is well known for its collection of American-Indian arts. It has more than 55,000 works of art including the amazing collection of pre-Columbian and Spanish Colonial Art.

The various departments comprising the museum are the Architecture, Design and Graphics, Asian, Modern and Contemporary, Native Arts, New World, Painting and Sculpture, Western Art and Textile Art. The American-Indian collection includes works from over 100 tribes across the U.S and Canada. This collection is always growing through the constant acquisition of historical artifacts.

The Denver Art Museum's collection includes a lot of paintings and sculptures by many of the local, national, regional and international artists. Some of these artists include Monet, Picasso, Modigliani, Grooms, Dine, Samaras, Corot and Degas etc. Some of the other collections are the architecture and design, graphics, modern and contemporary, oceanic etc.

Denver Art Museum is well known for its gallery of collections and also for their organisation and arrangements. The museum's Educational Department offer weekly programs for families and kids which are very helpful in educating and spreading knowledge and awareness among them.

The Denver Art Museum gives guided tours to their visitors from Tuesday to Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm. An in-depth tour of different areas of the museum is being offered every Wednesday and Friday at noon from 1 pm onwards.

The entire tour of the museum takes more than 2 hours and only one tour is offered on Sundays at 5 pm. The admission fee for adults is $8 and for seniors and students is $6. There is no admission fee for museum members and kids below 12 years of age.
