The mission of the Denver Art Museum is to preserve arts and crafts and showcase them to help further the cause of the people of the Rocky Mountains and Colorado. The finances generated by the museum are used for funding educational programs. The museum was launched in the 1890s under the moniker of Denver Artists' Club.

The Museum has a large collection of arts exhibits from all over but it is best known for its rare artifacts of American Indian art forms. The Museum boasts of more than 16,000 pieces of American Indian art works. These have a number of sources of origin, ranging across a hundred Native American tribes settled in northern America. With Navajo weaving, California basket weaving, Northwest Coast woodcarving and a number of other techniques on display, the museum celebrates the rich cultural history of the American Indian tribes.

Located at 100 W. 14th Avenue, Parkway the Denver Art Museum is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on Friday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Sunday from noon to 5:00 PM.
