Denver Museum Of Nature & Science

The Denver museum of Nature & Science is considered as one of the leading places for giving out informal science education. It was founded in the year 1900 and is located in Denver's City Park.

In past it was called as the Colorado Museum of Natural History and Denver museum of Natural History. The total 50000square-foot building includes anthropological materials and collection of natural history.

They basically focus on six major Denver travel areas of science and nature. They are Anthropology, geology, health science, Paleontology, space science and Zoology. The exhibitions, IMAX films, classes, lectures and programs are pertaining to these main areas.

The main mission of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is to initiate the curiosity in all the people with interests in scientific discovery and preservation. They also have a beautiful display and presentation of world's unique treasures. They strive to build a community of critical thinkers who have sound knowledge and the willingness to work for the future.

The Denver museum of Nature & Science was founded by the sole effort of a naturalist named Edwin Carter. He devoted his life for the study of Colorado birds, mammals and fauna. He displayed his specimen collections in his own log cabin home. In order to preserve and display his growing natural history collection, the museum was incorporated in the year 1900.

About 180000 students and teachers visit this fabulous museum each year. It provides innovative science outreach programs and distance education facilities for families, schools and other groups.

The permanent exhibitions out here are related to the Discovery zone, Egyptian Mummies, Expedition Health, Gems & minerals, North American Indian Culture, Prehistoric journey, space odyssey etc.

The planned exhibitions are usually focused upon Health science, Earth Science and Human Journey. Gates Planetarium will also be a great experience to the Denver CO travel visitors.
