Denver Museum of Nature and Science Free Days 2011

Zagat Family Travel Guide awarded Denver Museum of Nature & Science the top family attraction in 2004. The Museum aims to inspire curiosity and excite minds of all ages. The Museum is situated in the very center of City Park, about three miles east of downtown Denver. It can be easily reached from I-25. Denver Museum of Nature and Science offers inexpensive admission tickets: $11 for adults, $6 for juniors, and $8 for seniors.

Note: Only Colorado local residents can enjoy free admission on listed days. The general museum hour still applies: from 9 AM to 5 PM. But IMAX films and Planetarium shows still charge a fee. Adult IMAX ticket price is $10, while $8 is enough for seniors and juniors. Adult visitors need to pay $17 for Planetarium shows. The admission prices for seniors and juniors are $12 and $10 respectively. So are these tickets worth the prices?

What features Phipps IMAX Theater? Originally designed as the Phipps Auditorium, the Phipps IMAX Theater was mainly utilized for concerts, lectures and films by the 1980s. The theater was renovated and reopened in 1983. Now Phipps IMAX Theater has a seating capacity of 440 people and large-format IMAX films are to be displayed every day. Hours vary at the theater. Check the schedule and current films if you are interested.

Gates Planetarium presents opportunities for visitors to experience the universe. You're bound to have a realistic and accurate view of the vast universe. This 125-seat planetarium has many highlighting features. Guests can have unidirectional and semi-reclining stadium seating. The images you see are from NASA and other research institutions. The 16.4 surround-sound system is a 3D spatial sound system with the best sound effects. Many fantastic shows are on display now.
