Nightlife & Entertainment

Nightlife in Denver is a matter of perception. The place has state of art nightclubs, bars, restaurants, sports bars, dance clubs etc. There are two major nightlife destinations in Denver. One is the Lower Downtown or LoDo as it is affectionately known in the city of Denver and other is the Colfax Avenue. While LoDo has always been in limelight for the right reason, Colfax Avenue has had the image of longest wickedest street in America.

A stretch of 26 miles runs through Denver sub urban area that has long held a gritty reputation. This is because of the fact that it has been home to prostitution and drug peddlers making it a prime nightlife avenue.

Now with decades of improvement work and urban development, Colfax Avenue has a brand new image. It is now more hip, cleaner and popular than ever. It has highest concentration of nightspots in the city and the street gives out 24/7 ambience. Capitol Hill, which is located on Colfax Avenue and Grant Street, is a place for young and old, straight and gay, hip and traditional alike.

It caters to one and all and is often the scene of more open community in Denver. It is a definite party spot whatever your orientation may be. Similarly, Charlie's on E Colfax Avenue is a cultural landmark, which caters to the age-old west spirit. This place also caters to homosexuals and heterosexuals alike and it is very straight friendly. The place is so good that they have a slogan; "we will make you gay" as in happy. A must visit for you when on your Denver CO travel.

Sancho's Broken Arrow on E Colfax is one of the four Don Quixote themed bars in the city of Denver. It almost makes you re live the old days with age-old grandeur decor and live rock and roll. The Streets of London Pub on E. Colfax Avenue is the closest you can get to England without getting on a plane.
