The Denver Public Library is a resource centre where books and periodicals of all genres can be obtained by the public. The public book sale is an annual event that attracts many people. The participants of this event travel from Denver and other parts of Colorado.

Why participate in the Denver Public Library Book Sale?
1. Promotes a reading culture in the society.
2. A percentage of the proceeds from the sales are used in activities that aim at making the society better. For instance this year's a group of library members will travel from Denver to the Hurricane Katrina site to help the affected get back on their feet. The New Orleans Public Library will also benefit by getting 25% of the total sales proceeds in a bid to rebuild this library
3. They provide convenient ways of purchasing and ordering the books through the library's website.
4. Books are offered at subsidized rates.

The collection of books at the sale consists mainly of used books although some new books can also be sold.

One can also become a member of Denver Public Library Friends Foundation where they obtain free entry to the library provided the annual subscription amounts are paid.
