What features Phipps IMAX Theater? Originally designed as the Phipps Auditorium, the Phipps IMAX Theater was mainly utilized for concerts, lectures and films by the 1980s. The theater was renovated and reopened in 1983. Now Phipps IMAX Theater has a seating capacity of 440 people and large-format IMAX films are to be displayed every day. Hours vary at the theater.
