It takes a lot of physical stamina and mental preparedness to climb the Longs Peak. During summer, most climbers take 10 to 14 hours for a two-way trip to the summit. Most climbers take the casual route, which itself is taxing.
But technical climber may explore the 1,000-foot Diamond Face, which is extremely challenging. Climbers will encounter the Mills Glacier on the peak. It is located around 12,800 feet above the sea level. You can also see a permanent snowfield while climbing the summit.

If you do not wish to climb the summit (which most people do not unless they are technical climbers or mountaineers), there are a lot of hiking opportunities on the peak. The two popular hiking destinations include Peacock Pool and Chasm Lake. These places also have well-maintained trails.
You can hike towards the Boulder Field or simply observe the beauty of the Chasm Lake. Camping is available in the region, mostly on the lower portions of the mountain.
