Breckenridge is recognized as one of the year round resorts and therefore there are visitors and tourists all the year around in this town. This is one of the reasons that may attribute to parking seeming to be one of the challenges when you plan Breckenridge travel.

You can definitely expect greater parking restrictions when you are closer to downtown area or the Main Street part of Breckenridge.

There are some of the places and streets in Breckenridge that have a restriction of parking only up to 3 hours. These streets are mainly located in the downtown area of this town. Some of these streets and parking lots include Ice House Lots, Main Street, Ridge Street, Tonopah, Courthouse Lot, Barney Ford Lot, etc.

These parking restrictions have been primarily ensured in some of the busiest areas of the town and this has been done primarily to ensure that there is a greater parking turnover so that open parking spaces are available around the important places such as stores, restaurants, etc.

Another parking restriction that has been seen to exist in Breckenridge is that the parking is restricted and is prohibited on all the town streets and in the different parking facilities. This is observed between 2 AM to 6 PM.

Overnight parking is only allowed if you have a permit through the Ice Rink Lot. The location of this parking lot is in the South end of the town. The cost that one has to incur is around USD 5 for passenger vehicles and it is around USD 10 for the oversized vehicles.

There are permits that one can purchase and use in the lobby of the town hall and these can be used for almost 24 hours. There are some of the employees who are also allowed to park their vehicles without any permits and they can also ride the free ride shuttle into the town. These are also allowed under some of the Breckenridge travel deals.

The location of the Ice Rink Parking Lot is on the Boreas Pass Road. The patrolling on this lot is provided by the police department of Breckenridge.
